Introduction
We just read about a period in Israel’s history, of kings that came and went generationally doing evil in the sight of the Lord, practicing the abominable acts of the nations the Lord had deposed from Israel. Interestingly the king’s mother’s names and their linage are mentioned in the book of Kings. King Josiah in our first reading unlike his father and grandfather, did good in the sight of the Lord by repairing and restoring the temple, getting rid of idolatry in the land and bringing Juda back into covenant with God in the Law of Moses.

The Importance of having godly and faithful mothers / women in our lives? Bur not matter what, our earthly relationships with our mothers, God has given us, the greatest woman in human history, for a mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. We remember today St. Cyril of Alexandria Bishop and Doctor who defended Mary in the council of Ephesus 431 as Theotokos Theo - God, tokos- bearer “God bearer”. Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, our Blessed Mother.
Conclusion.

Conclusion.

Today also is the feast of our Lady of Perpetual help, we pray novenas with benedictions every Wednesday here, after this Mass. What an awesome gift! The Blessed Virgin Mother who with St. Joseph her spouse brought Jesus and presented him in the temple, Mary, God bearer, our Mother, the good tree that bore the eternal good fruit of her womb Jesus for all to feast on, now presents our prayers with her intercessions in heaven. Let us behold our mother near and dear in our hearts with Jesus, Blessed Mother who will always help us keep on the right path to bear good fruit for her Son our Lord and King.
